To ask the Secretary of State for Health what the po pulation is of the catchment area of the proposed new Purley Hospital. [120659]

The information requested is not held centrally. Information from the South West London Strategic Health Authority is that the proposed new Purley Hospital will serve, as a minimum, the Croydon South locality, with a population of 78,000.
