§ Paul GogginsMy colleagues and I are currently considering the Report of a Fundamental Review, published on 4 June. The next reports of the Shipman Inquiry will also comment upon the death certification system. My right hon. Friend the Home Secretary has asked Tom Luce, the Chair of the Fundamental Review, to carry out further work linking the recommendations of the Review Group and those made by Dame Janet Smith, the Chair of the Shipman Inquiry. In the autumn, when this work is complete, we will be in a position to outline a programme of reform.
