To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions how much funding his Department and its predecessors allocated to the full-time education and training option under the New Deal for Young People in each year since 1997; and if he will make a statement. [114472]

An allocation figure for 2003–04 is not available. The New Deal for Young People programme budget is now allocated to Jobcentre Plus Regions where decisions on how funding is spent on each New Deal Option are based on meeting the local needs of participants.

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what proportion of New Deal for Young People participants found work on(a) the Gateway and (b) the Extended Gateway, in each year since 1997. [121221]

In exceptional circumstances, New Deal for Young people (NDYP) participants can have their Gateway period extended. However, these cases are not recorded separately.
