§ Mr. CaplinThe Defence Housing Executive is pressing ahead with its programme of projects for upgrade and refurbishment of Service Family Accommodation as quickly as its funding allows, and in line with the priorities laid down by the armed forces to meet their strategic requirements for accommodation and location of forces. Upgrade projects for Colchester were completed in 2000 and 2001, two more are due to start in 2004–05, and a further four will commence as soon as they can be funded.

(2) what plans he has to provide additional dwellings at Colchester Garrison for the families of military personnel. [124929]
§ Mr. CaplinOn the basis of known unit movements and occupancy trends there is more than sufficient housing stock in the Colchester Garrison area to meet future housing demand. There are no plans at present to provide additional housing.
