To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport how much has been spent on sport-related activities by her Department and its predecessors in each of the last 20 years broken down by(a) central government, (b) Lottery and (c) other funding. [122832]

The Exchequer funding for Sport, the Capital Modernisation Funding of Space for Sports and Arts, Lottery awards made through Sport England and UK Sport and awards from the New Opportunities Fund are shown in the following table. 9,500 as of the start of July this year. It is not possible to provide figures prior to 2000 save at disproportionate cost.
