To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department to estimate, for each Young Offenders Institution in England and Wales,(a) the number of Youth Offending Teams that each Youth Offenders Institution links with and (b) the average distance in miles from the youth offenders institution of each of the Youth Offending Teams with which it has links. We understand from the Youth Justice Board(a) that Young Offender Institutions have links with an average of 27 Youth Offending Teams and (b) that the average distance between them is 44 miles.
