As National Statistician, I have been asked to reply to your recent question asking to list the infant mortality, broken down by category, for each social class for each year since 1997. (91986)The table below provides infant deaths by social class based on father's occupation in England and Wales for the years 1997–2001. Father's occupation is only collected for births that occur inside marriage and those outside marriage that are jointly registered by both parents.
