HL Deb 08 January 2003 vol 642 c221WA
Lord Berkeley

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the budget for expenditure of the Department for Transport for the current financial year; and what are the latest estimates for expenditure to date, forecast to year end. [HL825]

Lord Macdonald of Tradeston

The Department for Transport expenditure limit (DEL) for 2002–03 is £8,928,473,000. Latest estimates of expenditure show that by the end of November the department had spent approximately 68 per cent of its DEL. The department is currently forecasting to spend close to budget this year.
