asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will consider, as a confidence-building measure, granting British citizenship to residents of the Republic of Ireland who wish it in the same way as Irish citizenship is open to residents in a part of the United Kingdom as specified in Belfast Agreement in 1998. [HL5628]
