The years for which the number of deaths and injuries from fireworks are available are specified in the table. These figures are extracted from the annual DTI firework injuries statistics based on returns from the accident and emergency departments of hospitals in 947W Great Britain. They are collected over a 4-week period in October and November each year. Serious injuries are not separately identified in the statistics.
