§ Maria EagleFrom April 2003, Sure Start Maternity Grants will be payable to families receiving Income Support, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Child Tax Credit at a rate greater than the family element, or Working Tax Credit where a disabled worker is included in the assessment.
Applications may be made at any time from 11 weeks before the baby is due until three months after the birth, or up to three months after the date of an adoption or parental order.
