To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the aims and objectives of the future offensive air system programme. [76695]

Mr. Hoon

The Future Offensive Air System programme is intended to replace the offensive air capability currently provided by the Tornado GR4 strike aircraft towards the end of the next decade. The programme is currently in the concept stage. No final decisions have been taken.
