§ Margaret HodgeThe available information is shown in tables 1, 2 and 3. Figures for new child care places were first collected at a local authority level from April 1999. Between April 1997 and December 2001, some 66,600 new child care places were created in London helping 122,000' children. Of these places, 9,784 places helping 18,379 children were created between April 1997 and March 1999.
