To ask the Secretary of State for International Development what reserved rights she would retain after the sale of the majority holding in CDC Capital Partners. [67396]

Clare Short

I hold a number of reserved rights under the special share, which is referred to in Section 18 of the Commonwealth Development Corporation Act 1999. These are set out in Article 11 of the Articles of Association of CDC Group plc. They were designed to continue beyond sale of a majority holding in CDC to private sector investors. A copy of the Articles of Association has been placed in the Library of the House.
