§ Ms BlearsDetailed audit of the implementation of the National Institute for Clinical Excellence's guidance is only feasible at local level. The Institute has however commissioned a research project through the national health service research and development methodology programme to evaluate the impact of its guidance on clinical and managerial practice. A team from York University has been appointed to carry out this project. Preliminary results are expected in December 2002.
