To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what the average cost is of the provision is of a mile of a cycle lane. [65051]

Average costs are not available, but since cycle lanes use the existing carriageway of a road and are identified by markings and signs, costs are not high. The limitation in providing more cycle lanes on the carriageway will often be lack of sufficient road space to accommodate them.
