To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if she will make a statement on the development of the Oldbury nuclear power station. [30804]

[holding answer 28 January 2002]: As stated in BNFL's Annual Report and Accounts for 2001, Oldbury power station is projected to end its generating life in 2008. There are no plans for further development of the station.
