To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what recent representations she has had on holding an independent public inquiry into her Department's handling of the foot and mouth crisis. [30713]

§ Mr. Morley
The Department has continued to receive a number of representations from a variety of sources on this subject—mainly from county, district, borough and parish councils.
The Department has also received two petitions.
