Letter from John Kidgell to Mr. Llew Smith, dated 21 January 2002:
The National Statistician has been asked to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question about the average hourly earnings by travel to work area. I am replying in his absence. (28505)The New Earnings Survey (NES) provides earnings data for full-time employees on adult rates of pay. The most recent estimates for average hourly earnings for all travel to work areas in Great Britain are for April 2000. I have deposited a table showing these in the House of Commons Library.
