To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills how many teachers were paid the returners' bonus by 31 October. [24889]

None. Up to 31 December, 17 local education authorities and one non-maintained special school had submitted claims in respect of payments made to 36 teachers. The bulk of claims will not be made until later this year.
