To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the future of the three aircraft carriers. [27499]

Both HMS Ark Royal and Illustrious will continue in service into the next decade until the two new aircraft carriers enter service. HMS Invincible, the oldest ship of the class, will retire from service towards the end of this decade.
