§ Mr. IngramThe misuse of drugs (whether Class A, B or C) is incompatible with service in the armed forces. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence has discussed this subject generally with officials, including the Chief of the General Staff. He will, of course, consider the implications of any recommendation on cannabis reclassification that may be made in due course by the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs.
