§ Malcolm Wicks
The 'two-strikes' provision of the Social Security Fraud Act 2001 came into force from 1 April 2002. The provision applies to people who are convicted of benefit fraud on two separate occasions after 1 April 2002; it cannot be applied retrospectively.
