Letter from Len Cook to Mr. Chris Ruane, dated 16 December 2002: As National Statistician, I have been asked to reply to your recent question asking how many babies were born with a low birth weight, broken down by local authority, in each of the last three years. (87153) The number of low birth weight live births that occurred in each year from 1999 to 2001, by local authorities in England and Wales, are shown in the table which has been put in the Libraries of the House.
