§ Mr. RammellThe UK and other members of the Security Council are waiting for information to substantiate the claims made in the panel's latest report. 183W The current panel's mandate expired on 18 October, and there is now no mechanism in place to take forward the panel's work. We are pressing, through discussions at the UN for a speedy resolution to this problem.
§ 35. Dr. PalmerTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what the UK is doing to secure international action to help prevent war crimes in the Democratic Republic of Congo. [84356]
§ Mr. RammellThe UK has supported the establishment of the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC is best placed to consider appropriate action to address accusations of war crimes committed in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
