Investigations by the SIB RMP major enquiry team tasked by the Secretary of State for Defence to collect and collate evidence of war crimes committed against or witnessed by British citizens in the Gulf from 2 August 1990 to the cessation of hostilities have revealed considerable and compelling evidence of systematic and continuous grave breaches of the Fourth Geneva Convention committed by the Iraqi authorities, members of the Iraqi armed forces and their collaborators against the personal and property rights of British subjects".
