To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what the costs so far have been of the Multi-Modal Studies; and what the total estimated cost is. [85160]

Expenditure to 31 October 2002 on the Multi-Modal Studies has been approximately £27 million (excluding VAT). The estimated cost of the studies to completion of the programme is £32 million (excluding VAT).
