To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions if he will take steps to secure the review of the International Load Line Convention 1966. [47568]

§ Mr. Jamieson
The United Kingdom is taking a leading role in negotiations within the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) to revise the International Load Line Convention 1966 as modified by its protocol of 1988. Test result data have already been made available to the relevant subcommittee of the IMO.
