To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions when the A449 in Worcestershire will cease to be a trunk road; and if he will make a statement. [8983]

The de-trunking of the A449, previously programmed by the Highway Authority for April 2004, is on hold pending the outcome of the west midlands area multi-modal study.
