To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions what estimate he has made of the number of homeless people in each of the last three years.[8321]

The number of households accepted by local authorities in England under the homelessness provisions of the 1985 and 1996 Housing Acts as being eligible for assistance, unintentionally homeless and in priority need, was as follows:
