To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement about the assistance rendered to(a) British and (b) other coalition forces by Russia since 11 September. [17034]

Mr. Bradshaw

President Putin's statement of 24 September committed Russia to supporting the coalition, opening its airspace to humanitarian flights, intelligence co-operation, search and rescue, and support for western bases in central Asia.

Russia has realised this commitment.
