What is the latest figure for the number of households in the United Kingdom containing one or more pensioners. [HL1202]

There are 7.7 million households containing at least one person of state pension age in the United Kingdom.


1. The figure is to the nearest 100,000.

2. The figures come from the 1999–2000 Family Resources Survey (FRS). The 2000–01 version of the FRS is due for publication soon.
