Further to the Written Answer by Baroness Hayman on 30 April, whether the interest free loan agreed by them will have provision for the paying of interest on the money owed to farmers under the scheme. [HL1980]

As the decision by my right honourable Friend the Minister to provide an interest free Governmnent loan will allow the top-up payments under the Pig Industry Development Scheme to be paid some two years earlier than would otherwise have been the case, the question of interest on late payment by government does not arise.
