§ Ms Beverley HughesRisk assessments have been made of the potential impact on DETR(C)'s business of any major incidents, including those affecting computer systems. Measures are in place to minimise the effects of such an incident, including back-up of information, off-site storage and the identification of alternative work locations. Extensive plans are also in place to maintain essential operations and restore normal working with the minimum of delay. DETR(C)'s computer systems comply with Government Information Security Standards and the Department is currently working towards compliance with BS 7799 in the Security Management of key information processes.
