To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what research her Department has(a) commissioned and (b) evaluated into the reasons for teachers leaving the teaching profession. [3645]

The Department has not commissioned any such research to date. A research project on this topic has, however, been included in the Department's research programme for the current year.
