A66 Safety Study

The Transport Minister, Keith Hill, has asked me to reply to your recent Parliamentary Questions on when the A66 Safety Study is expected to be completed and what is the expected total cost.

The draft final report of the study is to be submitted to the Study Steering Group in Spring, following which it will be presented to the Regional Planning bodies for their consideration.

In respect of the cost this is an ongoing commission and the final amount will be dependent on the amount of work ordered. Based on actual payments made to date plus outstanding work currently envisaged, it is anticipated that the final outturn will be in the region of £200,000.
