To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) what assessment he has made of the compatibility of section 7(1) of the Intelligence Services Act 1994 with the UK's obligation under the European Convention on Human Rights in so far as it relates to the conduct of the United Kingdom's security service within the territories of countries that are signatories to the convention; and if he will make a statement; [146147]

(2) what assessment he has made of the compatibility of section 5(3) of the Intelligence Services Act 1994 with the UK's obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights, in respect of Gibraltar; and if he will make a statement. [146145]

The provisions of the Intelligence Services Act 1994 are fully compatible with the United Kingdom's obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights.
