§ Mr. Brady
To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when he will publish a White Paper on the regulation of financial management companies which advise the public on restructuring borrowing. [144483]

§ Dr. Howells
I have no plans to issue a White Paper on this matter.
The Director General of Fair Trading has a duty under the Consumer Credit Act to review and advise my right 216W hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry about developments in the UK credit market. If he makes any recommendations I will study them carefully.
