820 (18 per cent.) of the total intake of Naval Service ratings and other ranks had previously been members of the Cadet Forces,2,023 (13 per cent.) of the total intake of Army other ranks had been members of the Army Cadet Force or Combined Cadet Force,715 (17 per cent.) of the total RAF intake had been members of the Air Training Corps or Combined Cadet Force (RAF Section).
