Further to the Written Answer by Lord Bassam of Brighton on 18 October (WA 91) on the Immigration (Carriers Liability) Act 1987, what were the total charges incurred and owed for each of the last five years by carriers registered in:

  1. (a) the United Kingdom;
  2. (b) each other European Union member state; and
  3. (c) other countries. [HL89]

The noble Lord recently asked an almost identical question. A Written Answer was given on 9 November 2000 (WA 174). It remains the case that the information requested is currently unavailable and could be obtained only at a disproportionate cost.
