Mr. Harvey

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many adult patients received courses of treatment for which they met the full charge with no help from the health benefits scheme in each of the last 10 years. [149331]

[holding answer 7 February 2001]: The available information is for courses of treatment in the general dental services. For patients who pay the full patient charge up to the maximum limit, the number of courses of treatment is shown in the table for the years 1991–92 to 1999–2000 for England.
