To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what guidance he has issued to museums displaying radioactive minerals. [147619]

My Department has issued no such guidance. Organisations, including museums, which work with materials which emit ionising radiation are subject to the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999. As part of this, they may be required to appoint a Radiation Protection Adviser to provide advice and guidance in such matters.
