To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions if he will make a statement on the date of publication of the(a) Regions White Paper and (b) the Local Government White Paper. [19888]

§ Dr. Whitehead
As the Deputy Prime Minister announced to Parliament on 2 July, the Government's White Paper on regional governance in England will be published when it is ready.
The local government White Paper will be published shortly.
