To ask the Secretary of State for Defence which Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships have(a) entered into service with the Royal Navy since 1 May 1997 and (b) left the service of the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary since 1 May 1997. [158524]

The following ships have entered service with the Royal Navy since 1 May 1997HMS Ocean, HMS Kent, HMS Portland, HMS Sutherland, HMS Penzance, HMS Pembroke, HMS Grimsby, HMS Bangor, HMS Ramsey, HMS Blyth, HMS Vigilant and HMS Vengeance. The following ships have left Royal Navy and RFA service since 1 May 1997: HMS Birmingham, HMS Brave, HMS Beaver, HMS Boxer, HMS London, HMS Bicester, HMS Berkeley, HMS Orkney, HMS Blackwater, HMS Spey, HMS Arun, HMS lichen, RFA Olna and RFA Olwen.
