The Solicitor-GeneralIn the year 1997–98 the Serious Fraud Office obtained 37 convictions from the 39 defendants tried, a conviction rate of 94.9 per cent. In 1998–99, it obtained 34 convictions from the 42 defendants tried, a conviction rate of 81.0 per cent.
