§ Dr. ReidThe success of the New Deal is making a significant contribution to increasing employment in Glasgow and across Scotland. Employment in Glasgow rose by 11,000 in the year to February 2000 and across Scotland by 26,000 in the year to March 2000, and is at around its highest level since 1966.
