§ Ms QuinThe UK is currently banned from exporting calves. Despite the progress that we have made with the lifting of the beef export ban, it is unlikely that the European Commission will propose the removal of the ban on live cattle exports in the near future. We are, however, working with the NFU to explore possibilities such as opportunities for high welfare standard veal exports as an alternative outlet for dairy calves.
