To ask the Secretary of State for Health when he will announce the decision on the establishment of new medical schools. [124495]

Responsibility for the allocation of places to individual medical schools in England lies with the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).

HEFCE have already announced the allocation of approximately 840 new medical school places in England and plan to announce a further allocation of places soon.
