To ask the Secretary of State for Health in how many of his Department's PFI contracts KPMG has been an adviser. [132864]

[holding answer 27 July 2000]: Of the 19 major private finance initiative projects that have so far reached financial close, KPMG were lead financial advisers on the following:

  • Hereford
  • Greenwich
  • Dartford and Gravesham
  • South Durham (Bishop Auckland)
  • King's.

Of the 15 major PFI schemes announced, but yet to reach financial close, KPMG have been appointed as lead financial advisers on the following:

  • Oxford
  • Walsgrave
  • Fair Mile
  • West Middlesex.
