§ Mr. HoonAs at the end of October, the Ministry of Defence had incurred net additional expenditure of £125 million on Kosovo operations this financial year. The figure is expected to rise to just below £400 million by the end of 1999–2000.

§ Mr. Hoon[holding answer 18 January 2000]: The net additional expenditure incurred this financial year on Kosovo operations is expected to be just below £400 million. I have agreed with my Treasury colleagues that these costs will be covered by the Reserve and I am currently discussing the details in the context of my Department's Spring Supplementary Estimates.
